Lambs from Messrs Hutchinson, Redgate, led the way at Harrison and Hetherington's sale of 12,410 North of England Mule ewe lambs at Kirkby Stephen, selling for the top price of £380 per head.

The pen of 10 were purchased by Messrs Gate, Langford, Lostock Green, Northwich.

The champion pen of 20, from Messrs Taylor, Swathburn, realised £152 to Messrs Raine, Stanhope Gate, Middleton, Teesdale.

Overall averages were down on the year, at £83.28 for just over 11,000 lambs, (-£3.16).

Overall, 40 pens of lambs sold between £120 and £380, with 120 pens selling for more than £100.
