A fortnightly sale of store lambs at Harrison and Hetherington's Lazonby centre, saw the 2125 head topped at £86 by a pen of Texel cross ewe lambs from Messrs Makepeace, Black House, Alston.

Mixed pens reached £72 for Texel cross lambs from Messrs Faulder, Ewin Close, Armerthwaite. Suffolk lambs peaked at £64.50 from Messrs Pickthall, The Mains, Kirkoswald, whilst Mules sold to £57.50 from Messrs Martin, Hesleywell, Ninebanks.

Dalmally

United Auctions' annual show and sale of Blackface wedder lambs saw prices peak at £62 from Balliemeanoch, with the average for 7181 head sold cashing in at £39.86 against £39.98 at the corresponding sale last year with 302 more sold.

The show was judged by Ben Jack, Wester Upper Urquhart, Fife who found his champion pen of 40 in an entry from Achnaba, which later sold for £58 per head. The second prize pen from Clachan Farms, Kilninver, made £57.50, with the third prize winners from Glenfeochan Estate, making £47.50. All three pens were purchased by Messrs Errington, Penrith.
