A disappointing trade for many selling Charollais, saw a shearling ram from father and son duo, Alex and Russell Gray, Langside, Kirkfieldbank, lead the way selling for £1000 to Messrs Perring, Hoprig
This big lad is sired by Oakchurch Ozil – a former breed champion and inter-breed sheep at Royal Highland Show as well as the sire of the reserve female at the Ingliston event in 2016. The tup is out of a home-bred dam by Banwy Moonshine. The Grays who also enjoyed a cracking trade for their Suffolks and Texels sold at Kelso, produced the lead Charollais average, selling six at £733.33.
averages: 127 shearling rams, £482.83; 20 ram lambs, £359.
