Lawrie and Symington held the weekly sale of 4567 store lambs and feeding ewes, as well as all classes of breeding sheep and rams. Topping the store lamb sale at £76 was Beltex lambs from West Millrig, with Blackface selling to £55 from Henderland. Feeding ewes topped at £136 for Texels from Fallows, Burnton, whilst breeding sheep peaked at £220 for pure Texel gimmers from Fallows, Burnton.

1525 store lambs and feeding ewes were forward at Caledonian Marts' fortnightly sale, in Stirling, with all classes selling sharper on the week.

Top price of the day went to D Nicol, Auchtenny, Forgandenny and R Sibbald, Thorn, Dollar for Texel cross lambs, selling at £67.

Feeding ewes peaked at a price of £55.50 for a pen of Texels from R Gray, Craigmad, Falkirk.

3494 store sheep were forward for the sale of Blackface and cross ewes, gimmers and ewe lambs, held by Dingwall and Highland Marts, in Dingwall.

Lambs (426) averaged £38.77 and sold to £145 for a pen of Blackfaces from 37 Vatisker, Back, whilst ewes (2545) cashed in at £38.85, peaking at £98 for a pair of Blackfaces from Blackmuir, Heights of Dochcarty.

Gimmers (477) levelled out at £77.68 selling to £200 for a pen of Blackfaces from Arnicle Farm, Glenbarr.

Feeding sheep (46) sold to £64 for a Cheviot ram from Pabbay Farm, Isle of Pabbay.

Hexham Mart held its weekly catalogued sale of 5080 store lambs. Trade again followed on from last week with a packed ringside of 35 active buyers, which resulted in trade being slightly sharper again. More lambs could have been sold to vendor advantage. Sale topped at £84 for Texel lambs from M/s S Henderson & Sons, Felton Demesne. M/s J Green & Sons, Follions sold a fantastic pen of 50 Texel x lambs to sell for £82.50 Mule lambs continue to sell well at Hexham and sold to a high of £69.50 for a panful from M/s W&PF Walton, Penpeugh. Blackface lambs again sold well and very sought after and sold to £56.50 from M/s JAI & DJ Scott, The Brigg. The sale of 5465 store lambs was held by United Auctions, at Stirling, where overall breed averages were down on the corresponding week, with Mules cashing in at £54.92 (-£1.27p) and Suffolk crosses levelling out at £58.13 (-£1.18p). Texel crosses averaged £59.18 (-£0.60p), whilst Beltex crosses balanced out at £60.43 (-£3.80p). Blackfaced lambs averaged £42.18 (-£0.64p) and Cheviot stores cashed in at £44.46 (-£11.23p).
