The champion pair of heifers at the Luing Cattle Society's autumn sale at United Auctions' Stirling centre, went on to top the sale at 1900gns.
The heifers, two bulling entries from Billy and Andrew Renwick, Blackhouse, Yarrow, were selected by the judge, Andrew Marchant, Clonhie, Thornhill, and sold to Professor WA Penny, Harehead. Blackhouse also produced the lead average selling 14 Luing bulling heifers at £1553.
Luing heifer calves peaked at 750gns for a pen of three from N Horsfall, Rannoch, purchased by H J Harbinson, Dyke Farm, Falkirk.
In-calf Luing heifers sold to 1550gns for an entry from A Waugh, Walls, selling to Messrs Barr, Braidland, Stewarton.
Sim-Luings were topped at 2400gns for a pair from Robert McNee, Benhar, purchased by C Thomson, West Tulloch, Midmar, Aberdeenshire. Benhar sold 14 in-calf Sim-Luing in-calf heifers at £2258.
Leading the bulling heifer section of the Sim Luings at 1550gns, James Foster, The Riddings, Bolton Abbey, bought the best from MG Halligan and AC Bruke, Stewarton, who sold four bullers to average £1654.
