Making a solid 5400gns at Craven Auction Marts working sheep dog sale at Skipton, was the June 2016-born tri-coloured dog, Penywern Jim, from John Paterson, of Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire.
Sired by South Wales handler, Simon Wayman’s Roy, and out of ABL Davis’s Pru, the dog, acquired from Welsh handler Emrys Jones, qualified for the Scottish Nursery final, but was unable to run as Mr Paterson was in hospital. Jim has also competed in opens and has one national point to his name. He returned to the Scottish Borders with hill farmer Neil Manning, who farms near the source of the River Tweed at Tweedsmuir, near Moffat.
