Leading the way at 323.1p was a 260kg Limousin cross from Wester Tomloan, Ardclach, and £1160 twice for a 565kg Limousin cross from Cambusmore, Dornoch and for a pen of 580kg Charolais crosses from Glaick, Ardross, to level at 215.8p.

Heifers averaged 203.3p and sold to 283.0p for a 265kg British Blue cross from Shewglie, Glenurquhart and £1120 for a 600kg Charolais cross from 3 Glaick, Ardross.

Young bulls sold to 210.2p for a 295kg Limousin cross from Drumloan, Drumnadrochit and £720 for a 430kg Shorthorn cross from Easter Sheep Park, Balblair, whilst the breeding cattle peaked at £1400 for a Simmental cross in-calf heifer from Bogburn, Duncanston.

Dingwall also sold 3865 store sheep, where lambs (2886) sold to £85 for Texel crosses from Hillend, Auldearn.

More of the same breed topped the ewes (726) at £86 from Moulinard House, Tain. Rams (99) peaked at £350 for a Blackface from Newton of Crathie, Ballater, whilst feeding sheep (154) sold to £70 for a Texel cross from Scorr, Glendale.

Heifers sold to £1090 for Limousins from Barrodger and 214.1p for more of the same breed from Knockterra.

Bullocks and heifers averaged 201.9p and 191.1p respectively, while 43 Friesian bullocks levelled at 141.8p.

Some 678 store lambs were also forward at Ayr, where a top price of £78 was achieved for Texel’s from Mark Connell, Balig Ayr.
