Trade was buoyant for Badger Face Texels at the society's show and sale of in-lamb females at Carlisle, last week, where the sale was topped at 2800gns.
Top price of the day went to the pre-sale show's first prize gimmer and overall champion, a gimmer from Stuart Wood, Woolhillock Croft, Skene, Westhill, Aberdeenshire. Imported from Ireland as a ewe lamb, she is sired by a Braam tup and out of a Wehkamp ewe, both with Dutch bloodlines.
She is in-lamb to an imported Woodies tup, which stood overall champion in Holland, and was purchased by WS Millar and Son, Kirkpatrick Fleming, Lockerbie, Dumfries-shire.
