The Lanark Crackers Sale proved one to remember for father and son duo, Archie and John MacGregor, of the Allanfauld flock, Kilsyth, who not only secured the top two prices at 22,000gns and 12,000gns, but also produced the lead average of £5499.38 for eight.

Topping the Friday evening trade was an ET-bred twin by Knap You’re the Man and out of a Baltier Wellington-sired dam. She was first at Biggar Show, earlier in the year and carries an index in the top 10% of the breed. Selling in-lamb to Plasucha Class Act, she was knocked down to Procters Farm, Clitheroe.

Securing their second top price was a full ET sister to the sale topper. This stylish gimmer sold carrying to Garngour Bullet, with an index in the top 25% of the breed. Forking out the money was Bruce Renwick, for his Castlecairn flock, Kelso.

Myfyr Evans sold his best at 7500gns from the Rhaeadr flock. His ewe lamb is by Garngour Alabama and out of a ewe by the 145,000gns Knap Vicious Sid. She was purchased by Ellie Owens and James Amphlett, Leominster.

At 5200gns was a ewe lamb from Brian Hanthorn’s Mullan flock, Tynan, Co Armagh. This ET-bred lamb is by Deveronvale Aftershock and out of a Teiglum Young Gun-sired dam, making her a full sister to the 48,000gns Mullan Camikaze. She headed home with Andrew Nielson, for his Brackenridge flock.

Allan Campbell secured 5000gns for a gimmer from his Strawfrank flock, Carstairs. Sired by the New View Awesome tup and out of a Ballynahone Yorkie daughter, she sold carrying to Harestone Central Bank to JG Teward, Darlington.

The hammer was brought down at 3000gns for a ewe lamb from Donald and Sarah MacPherson’s Hexel flock, Castlehills, Berwick-upon-Tweed, selling to Willy Davis, Usk Vale. Sired by Plasucha All Starout and out of a dam by Duncryne Uber Cool, she is a full sister to the 8000gns Hexel Born to be Wild.

Next in the trade stakes, at 2600gns, was a gimmer from Stuart Barclay’s Harestone flock, purchased by Brian Buchan, for the Clinterty flock, Aberdeenshire. Having been served by Teiglum Braveheart, she is by Knockem Ambassador and out of a dam by Glenside Will.I.Am.

The MacGregors also got 2200gns for another gimmer by Knap You’re the Man, out of a Tullylagan Tonka daughter. Selling in-lamb to Teiglum Braveheart, she carries an index in the top 25% of the breed and was knocked down to Don and Callum McCreesh, of the Rockwell flock, Co Tyrone.

Four females made 2000gns, with the first two coming from Kerr Jarvie’s Duncryne flock, Greenloaning. Both are full sisters by Clinterty Yosemite Sam and out of a Stainton Vigilante-sired ewe.

The first of the pair sold in-lamb to Hexel Blockbuster and was bought by the Morgan family, Sennybridge. Sold carrying to Milnbank Brooklyn, the second gimmer was bought by Messrs O’Brien.

A third at 2000gns was Donald and Sarah MacPherson's gimmer by Clinterty You Cracker, out of a Hollyford Vroom Vroom-sired dam. Selling in-lamb to Hexel Born to be Wild, she was knocked down to Ed Samuel, of the Hendre flock, St Weonards.

The final 2000gns sale came from for a gimmer from Andrew Neilson’s Brackenridge flock. She is a daughter of Sportsmans Admiral and is out of a dam by Knock Yardsman. Heading home with Messrs Vaughan, Kings Park, she was sold in-lamb to Teiglum Cinnamon.
