Bullocks topped at 261.40p for a 440kg Aberdeen-Angus cross from Mains of Balhall, and to £1200 for a 610kg Limousin cross from Horselaw. Whilst heifers saw a top of 241.40p achieved for a 292kg Limousin cross from Gateside, and to£1260 for a 598kg Charolais cross from Templeton.

Young Bulls (30) averaged 168.82p and sold to 212.40p for a Simmental cross from Knockallan, and to £1120 for an Aberdeen-Angus cross from Mosston Muir.

Aberdeen-Angus bullocks (265) averaged 218.0p per kg and sold to 241.4p from Kinloid, Arisaig, and to £1195 from Ardjachie, Tain. Whilst Aberdeen-Angus heifers (152) levelled at 200.5p and topped at 214.9p from North Calder, Halkirk, and to £1070 again from Ardjachie.

Aberdeen-Angus young bulls (9) sold to 214.8p from Ardross Castle, Alness, and to £840 from Raddery, Fortrose.

Other native bullocks (75) averaged 206.7p and realised 242.6p for 305kg Beef Shorthorn crosses from Dell of Killiehuntly, Kingussie, and to £1230 for a 615kg of the same breed from Balliefurth, Grantown on Spey, whilst other native heifers (49) peaked at 235.5p for 310kg Saler crosses from Croft Martin, Kingussie, and to £1100 for 592kg Beef Shorthorn crosses from Balliefurth, to level at 198.7p.

Continental bullocks (351) balanced out at 217.1p and hit a top price of 255.6p for 270kg Charolais crosses from Tummel Bridge, Pitlochry, and to £1280 for a 645kg Limousin cross from Kinerras, Kiltarlity.

In the continental heifers (211), an average of 216.5p was achieved, topping at 262.7p for a 335kg Limousin cross from Westburn, Thurso, and to £1190 for a 545kg Limousin cross from Kinerras.

Bullocks (300) topped at £1200 on three occasions, firstly for a British Blue from Darroch Brae, followed by a Limousin from Meikle Ittington, and finally for an Aberdeen-Angus from Maryport. Top per kg was 253.5p paid for Limousins from Half Mark, to level at 213.9p, while heifers cashed in at 205.7p.

Harrison and Hetherington's Annual April Fair Day sale of store cattle had a large show of cattle forward, where bullocks topped at £1140 for a British Blue from Messrs Wilson, Belzies and to 276p per kg for a 12-month-old Limousin from Messrs Nichol, Lawston.

Heifers were also easily sold with British Blues from Messrs Wilson, Belzies, achieving £1160 and to 283.6p for a 12-month-old Limousin from Messrs Wilson, Reddings.
