Hope Valley Drago, a pedigree Texel ram lamb from Rob Evans has been sold in a private deal for £70,000.

The lamb is a son of last year’s 11,000gns Proctors Candycrush, bought at Lanark, and is bred from a 10,000gns Auldhouseburn-bred gimmer purchased at Carlisle in September 2019, by the 130,000gns Sportsmans A Star.

Mr Evans who owns 25 ewes in his Shrewsbury-based Hope Valley flock, established in 2010, sold the lamb, to Robert Jones, buying for his Dromonby Bridge flock from Middlesborough. Mr Evans has also retained a share.

The sale follows Mr Evans’ previous best of 25,000gns.
