Entries from Paul Delves’ Bridgeview flock from Church Stoke, Montgomery, proved the star attraction at the sixth annual sale of pedigree Suffolks at Longtown, securing the top two prices.

The evening sale which included other pedigree females, was topped at 3000gns by a Suffolk gimmer by Strathbogie Stradivarius, purchased by M Fear, Farleton House, near Bristol, who also bought another Bridgeview gimmer at 1000gns.

In turn, the Barbours received 1100gns for a triplet-born Suffolk gimmer by Stockton Shpock purchased by new Romanian breeder, D Patru who bought several lots at the sale to include the lead priced ram lamb at 1000gns from Solwaybank.

Texel females peaked at 1300gns for first time consignors, Messrs Harvie and Davies’ Sadlerhead flock from Coalburn, Lanarkshire. Their gimmer, by Knockem Bugatti, was knocked down to Alan Cowens, Philiphaugh, Selkirk.

Robbie Wilson’s Milnbank flock from Turriff, sold two at 850gns each with the first purchased by Messrs Wharton, Republic of Ireland and the second to John Connell Farms, Wanton Walls, Lauder.
