A field day was had by Richard and Selina Beattie, Omagh, at their on-farm production sale of Valais Blacknose sheep which recorded a 100% clearance.

Ewe lambs met a fierce demand with 19 returning an average of £3500.

The sale was topped at 4800gns for an imported ewe selling with her ewe lamb at foot, purchased by Conal Murray, Ballygowan.

Chasing this outfit at 4400gns was another well-bred stock ewe with her ram lamb at foot, bought by Stewart Donaldson, Newtownards.

Two lots realised 4100gns, with the first of those being a ewe lamb sired by Jura Eragon, which headed home with Seven Mile Straight Farms, Antrim.

Another ewe lamb bred the same way also made 4100gns to Conal Murray, Ballygowan.

Rams sold to 2000gns, for a two-shear Glenchamber-bred tup purchased by Matt Ryan, Wicklow.
