A top price of 2800gns plus another seven selling at or above 1500gns were the highlights of the Suffolk Sheep Society’s Northern Ireland Branch Premier Export sale, at Ballymena.

Sale leader was a ram lamb from Fred Smyth’s Windyhill flock, from Limavady, which sold to Michael and Marie Jennings of the Ballygarris flock, Co Mayo. Their purchase is by Frongoy Five Star.

Just behind, on 2400gns, Brian McVicker, Bushmills, bougth a Mullaghboy Goliath-sired ram lamb the Claragh pen of James McCullough, Kilrea.

Two sold at 1800gns to include a lamb from Michael Smyth purchased by Jalex, Co Antrim and another from Stephen Sufferin, bought by Dennis Lynch and Sons, Co Longford.

Alastair Gault who owns the Forkins flock, also had a good day selling a lamb at 1700gns to James Cannon, Newtownstewart, and the top priced shearling at 1400gns to Robert Walker, of the Kilcurley flock, from Co Limerick.
