Prices peaked at 6100gns for a Suffolk shearling ram at James Alexander's on-farm sale of 900 breeding sheep just outside Randalstown, Co Antrim.

The tup, by Scrogton Jack the Lad, is out of a Strathbogie ewe bought privately at the Royal Highland Show, and sold to Jonathan Watson, buying for his Brijon flock from Berwick upon Tweed.

Mr Alexander who has been breeding pedigree Suffolks for three years, sold 16 rams to average £1686, with his selection of gimmers selling to £350 per head purchased by Messrs Shields, Omagh, to level at £245 for 880.
