A flying trade throughout saw averages improve in every section for the Tercrosset sale of continental rams and females at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.
The sheep, sold on behalf of TC Whitford, Tercrosset, Brampton and brought out by James Whiteford, saw shearling rams increase £287 per head on the year to level at £1123 for 135, with 151 gimmers up £49.19 at £390.73 and ewe lambs rising £37.45 per head to £212.80 for 140.
Top price was 3500gns paid for the No 2 Texel shearling, while gimmers peaked at 750gns for three Texel cross Beltex. Ewe lambs were topped at 420gns again for Texels.
