Scottish breeder, Ewen Macmillan of the Luruha flock from Fintry, came home in style from the Northern Area Jacob Sheep Society sale at Skipton, having purchased the top priced lot at 1500gns.
His purchase, a January-born ewe lamb from Robert Price, Pentre, Churchstoke, is by Kinloch Franco, and out of an Edingale dam by Blackbrook Don’t Push It.
Heading further north, Adam Christie, Huntly, went to 850gns for a Lickhill Bruce-sired ewe lamb from Tom Lewis, Salopearl, Whitchurch.
Ewe lambs from Jean Price’s Pentrenant flock also sold well at 800gns and 700gns.
An improved show of rams peaked at 680gns from Lyndon Trumper and family, Beiliau, Abergavenny. Their Celtic Magnum, acquired from Arwel Jones, is by Nettlebed Kerryman, and sold down to Norfolk with Thetford’s Gillian Christian.
Mike Munro’s Kinloch flock from Ladybank, Fife, topped the ram lambs at 500gns, with an Oakdean Dave son purchased by Ulverston’s SG Benson from the Lake District.
