The firm's sale of 281 rams was topped by a Texel shearling at £1250 from Veltigar, Orkney, while lambs sold to £1000 for another of the same breed from Lower Reiss, Wick.

Harrison and Hetherington held their annual sale of North Country Cheviot Hill females, where draft ewes met a flying trade averaging £137.85 and topping at £165 from Messrs WD Allen, Stoophill, Alnwick and Robert Rennie, Bowmont Farming Co, Attonburn Farm.

Some 653 gimmers sold to average £207.34 and peaked at £260 from Messrs Ward, Whitestonehill, Tundergarth.

Hill ewe lambs were keenly bid for, cashing in at £118.58 and reaching a top price of £200 was Messrs C Mackinnon, Druim Bhailr, Sutherland, followed by £190 from Messrs James, Wester Jawcraig, Falkirk.

An entry of 375 unregistered females were also forward, with draft ewes selling to £150 from Messrs A MacDougal and Co, Muirhouse, Kirkmacolm, while gimmers sold to £210 and £200 from Messrs Aitchison, Mossdale Farm, West Linton.
