Sales improved across the board at Saucy Charollais female sale at Worcester Auction Mart, where prices peaked at 3000gns for a ewe lamb from the Ingram family's Aberdeenshire-based Logie Durno flock.

Their sale leader, a daughter of Logie Durno Umpire, was knocked down to Jeremy Price, buying for the Oakchurch flock in Herefordshire.

The same buyer also went to 1450gns for a Logie Durno Untouchable-sired ewe lamb from the Ingrams.

Second top price was 2000gns paid for a ewe lamb from Robert Gregory's Edstaston flock in Shropshire. She is by the 25,000gns record priced, Knockin Shockin, and sold to Declan Miley from Co Roscommon in Ireland.

Helen and Hannah Sloan sold this gimmer for 1400gns

On the debit side, Mr Gregory went to 1400gns to buy the equal top priced gimmer from Dumfriesshire breeders Helen and Hannah Sloan, who were first time consignors at this event. Their sale leader, was last year's Dumfries Show champion, a Leelaw Supersonic-sired entry.

Another by the same sire and from the same home made 1200gns selling to Irish breeder, Declan Miley.

Regular vendor Adrian Davies from Carmarthen had a top price of 1350gns for an in-lamb gimmer by Arbryn SamJay, purchased by David Roberts from Kenley, Shropshire for his Boyo flock.

Dumfriesshire breeder, Ben Radley then went to 1300gns fro a Wernfawr Stormer-sired gimmer from Mr Davies.

Other top sellers included a 1400gns gimmer from Dewi Evans, Anglesey for an Estaston Sotogrande daughter carrying twins to Dalby Veainu. The buyer was Vale of Glamorgan breeder, Justin Evans.

Averages: 32 gimmers, £748.02 (+£170.26) ; 13 ewe lambs, £1030.61 (+£48.91).
