A top price of 7000gns was achieved on two occasions at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' multi-breed pedigree bull sale staged via its Thainstone Online platform on Monday.

More than 100 online registered bidders ensured active bidding throughout, as 22 bulls cashed in to average £4037.73.

Robin Anderson, head of livestock operations at ANM, said: “We are pleased with how our second online sale went, with good prices achieved for the bulls sold. The Thainstone Online platform opens up the auction system to a UK wide audience, providing a valuable new route to market livestock for our customers and members. Further sales are being planned for the future.”

First to sell at 7000gns was Neil and Stuart Barclay's Charolais, Corrie Olly from, Harestone, Banchory.

This May, 2018-born bull is by the 19,000gns Corrie Alan, out of Corrie Elenor, and sold up to Caithness with Will Sutherland, Brackside, Reay, Thurso.

The second bull making 7000gns was a Limousin from Garry Patterson’s Aultside herd from Upper Forgie, Keith, which sold to the Wilkies at Braigiewell, Echt, Westhill. This was Aultside Playboy, a 20-month-old son of Millington Dominator, out of Aultside Lady, which is a full sister to the 65,000gns Aultside Meanmachine.

Other Charolais sold to 6000gns for the 17-month-old Balthayock Percival from Major David Walter’s herd in Perthshire. He is by Balthayock Impression, out of the Swalesmoor Cracker-sired dam, Balthayock Josephine, and sold up to Orkney with J Corrigall and Son, North Bigging, Dounby.

Nine Simmental bulls sold to average £3911.11 reaching a top of 5800gns for the 20-month-old Corskie King 19 from the Green family’s Corskie herd at Garmouth. He is by Auchorachan Farmer 14, out of Corskie Highness, by the 45,000gns Bel Dhu Capercaillie and sold to S Allardyce, East Town, Tarland, Aboyne.

Garry Patterson, Upper Forgie, also sold at Simmental at 5500gns. This was the January, 2019-born bull, Aultmore Knockout, by Auchorachan ACDC, purchased by the Wilkies, Braigiewell.

Next best amongst the Simmentals was 5000gns paid for Auchorachan Kevin from Michael Durno, Auchorachan, Glenlivet. Selling to Caithness with T and I Alexander, Slickly, Lyth, Wick, this February, 2019-born bull is the first son of Auchorachan Hudson, to be offered for sale.

Next best amongst the Simmentals was a 4500gns sale the 23-month-old bull, Glenlossie Jimmy 18 from the Sutherland family, Connachie, Kellas, Elgin. He is by Redhill Fitzroy and sold to A Sharp and Son, Farmton, Tough, Alford.

Topping the Aberdeen-Angus trade at 4500gns was the 21-month-old Foggie Edros from Karl Scott, Foggie Farm, South Brownhill, Turriff. By the 18,000gns Balmachie Jack Eric, he sold to N and S Innes, Cairnhill, Huntly.
