Cumbrian Olympia Poll, a 19-month-old Salers bull bred by Tom and Ian Walling, Over Whitlaw, Selkirk, has been sold in a private deal for £16,000 to Lancashire breeders, G and O Lawrenson’s Parkfield herd.
The best homozygous polled bull bred to date by the brothers, who own the Cumbrian herd of 70 pedigree Salers, he is the first son sold by Cumbrian Lieutenant Poll, a bull exported to France for £12,000 in 2018, and a grandson of Cumbrian Capermello, the former record priced bull sold at Castle Douglas in 2015 for 10,000gns. His dam is the heifer, Cumbrian Jaconde 901 Poll.
