Beltex prime lambs from Annstead secured the top two awards and prices at a show and sale at Harrison and Hetherington’s Wooler Mart, where 732 head balanced out at £94 with an average weight of 45kg

Top price was £129 paid for a pen of five 44kg entries that stood second in their class from Annstead, with the first prize pen from the same home making £128 per head, to the judge, Doug Nicholson, Whitley Bay Butchers.

Beltex from Newham also topped the ewe trade at £140.
