Pedigree Suffolk females were in demand at Skipton Auction Mart’s second annual winter fixture, where trade peaked at 1300gns for a gimmer.

The sale leader came from Steve and Louise Buckley’s Sitlow flock, Sittinglow Farm, Dove Holes, Buxton. This January, 2019-born twin was sired by Strathbogie Peaky Blinder, out of a Stockton Turbine-sired dam and scanned carrying twins to Pyeston Stormzy.

The Buckleys also topped the aged ewes at 900gns with a rising three-year-old twin by Salopian He’s The Boy, and full sister to the highly regarded Sitlow Concept. Out of a Jubilee Legacy ewe and again sold in-lamb to Pyeston Stormzy, this time carrying triplets, she headed home with Ron Darlington, of Hartington.

Young breeder, Harry Lyons, of the Cloudside flock, Beech Tree, Congleton, led the way among the ewe lambs at 1050gns. His December-born triplet was a daughter of the 30,000gns Salopian Scuderia, out of a Lakeview dam. Taking this girl home was Jill Davies, for her Albea flock, Hough, Crewe.
