Corrie Ruby 15th led the way at the Harrison and Hetherington's annual autumn sale of Whitebred Shorthorns and Galloway cattle, when she made 3600gns for Keith Laurie, Southdean, Chesters, Hawick.

The sale leader, Corrie Ruby 15th sold with her bull calf at foot to Northumberland with Messrs Oliver, Haltwhistle. This three-year-old heifer is a daughter of Corrie Gladiator, and out of Corrie Ruby 11th, which goes back to Burnedge Knight. She has been running with Sewingshields Bojo, whilst the bull calf is a son of Corrie Jack.

Glentyne White Heather made her mark for MG and J Taylor, Low Arvie, Corsock, Castle Douglas, when she realised 3000gns to Messrs McAllister, Elrig, Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire. This heifer is a daughter of Parton Mastercard, out of Barlaes Royal Heather 12th, which is by Barlaes Welcome, and is PD'd 15 weeks in calf to Glentyne Grafter.

Another from the same home attained a 2100gns bid from Messrs Smyth, Limavady, Co Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Glentyne Marilyn is a daughter of Northwood George, and out of the Corrie Keystone sired dam, Corrie Marilyn 31st. She has also been running with Glentyne Grafter.

The sole Whitebred Shorthorn bull to sell, Parton Enhancer, made 2000gns for Messrs Hewson, Burgh Head, Burgh By Sands, Carlisle. This March 2019 bull is a son of Northwood William, and out of Parton Suzanna, which goes back to Northwood Henry. He headed north with Messrs Matheson, Sutherland, Inverness.

Barlaes Royal Heather 16th made her mark for RJ McTurk, Barlaes, Dalry, Castle Douglas, when she sold for 2000gns to Messrs Tomkins, Hethersgill, Carlisle, Cumbria. This bulling heifer is sired by Blackburn Thumper, and out of Barlaes Royal Heather 7th, which is by Raeburnfoot Talisman.

The same home also sold the Galloway bull, Barlaes Sam for 2000gns to Messrs Paterson, Langholm, Dumfriesshre. This two-year-old bull is a son of Barlaes Magic and out of Barlaes Katie.

Among the Galloways, trade topped at 2800gns for the in-calf heifer, Helga of Ennerdale from GJ Kyle, Spout Bank, Walton, Brampton, Cumbria. She was bred from R and A Maxwell, being a son of Sir Alec of Fingland, and out of Bowanhill Kathleen, which goes back to Ben Lomond Rolex. Taking this girl home was Messrs Wallace, Ninebanks, Hexham, Northumberland.

The best from D and R Cornthwaite, Balgray Hill, Lockerbie, made 2000gns. The heifer, Napalm of Balgray, sold with her bull calf at foot to Messrs Campbell, Strathaven, Lanarkshire. This heifer is a daughter of Troloss Impeccable and out of Incendiary of Balgray.

Another on the same money was Drumhumphry Billy from AM Brown, Drumhumphry, Corsock, Castle Douglas. This three-year-old bull is sired by Jake of Nether Rusko, out of Drumhumphry Lady Greta, and found a new home with Messrs Moore and Son, Slaggyford, Brampton, Cumbria.
