Technology played its part at Lawrie and Symington’s Great Bonanza Suffolk female sale at Crewe Road, Maghera, where 60% of the lots were sold to online buyers.

A total clearance of all 111 head forward saw a top call of 8400gns and produced a sale average of £1995.

Topping the sale was the first gimmer in from Stephen Sufferin’s Crewelands flock. She is sired by Birness Playboy and sold carrying a pair to Solwaybank Champion, finding a new home with Michael and Caolan McNally, Benedyglen, Dungiven.

The same home sold two gimmers at 4600gns. Another Birness Playboy daughter, scanned twins to Solwaybank Rock Solid, also headed home with the McNallys.

Another by the Birness sire sold to Willie Tait’s Burnview flock for the same money. This gimmer is in lamb to Kinbally Ulsterman.

The Scottish Farmer:

This shearling made 6600gns for W Tait

On the flip side and hitting 6600gns was the best from Willie Tait’s flock. This gimmer is a daughter of Strathbogie I’m Invincible and is scanned to have twins to Strathbogie Joel. Buyers were Messrs Smith, Mothercrum, Eire.

Mr Tait then sold a further two lots at 6000gns.

First of at that was a gimmer by Forkins Ferrai II which sold with a single inside her to Lakeview Lockdown. The last bidder on this lot was Messrs McDermott, Shane Road, Co Tyrone.

On the same money was the first ewe lamb from Burnview. She is a daughter of Burnview Hitman II and headed home with Messrs Screene, Windfield flock, Eire.

Burnview also had another gimmer at 5200gns, which sold to B Doyle, Bardahessia, Pomeroy, Co Tyrone. She is another daughter of Strathbogie I’m Invincible, selling with a pair to Strathbogie Joel.

After a successful sale for his own offering, Stephen Sufferin’s Crewelands flock forked out the cash for the best from the Benedyglen pen by paying 4600gns to get the top out of that pen.

His purchase was a gimmer by Ballynacannon Taylor Made, carrying a pair of lambs to Convoy Pablo Escobar.
