A good Christmas dinner is something you can spend all year thinking about and this year, Quality Meat Scotland’s (QMS) ‘Christmas is What You Make It’ campaign aims to get the nation dreaming all things Scotch.

Andrew and Lauren Houstoun from Highland Perthshire, who recently established Glenkilrie Larder, are supporting the campaign and encourage other farmers to get involved.

“It’s important we, as an industry, come together and help sell the fantastic story of Scotch to encourage consumers to choose products which are produced to an uncompromisingly high standard.

“Supporting the ‘Christmas is What You Make It’ campaign can be as simple as sharing content from the QMS and Scotch Kitchen social media channels or sharing information about the Scotch difference, which is available in QMS’ industry support package,” said Lauren Houstoun.

With everyone’s Christmas table set to look a little different this year, the campaign focuses on a Christmas menu of seven delicious dishes which are the perfect mix of recipe inspiration for this festive season – especially if consumers are looking for inspiration for the seven days from Christmas to New Year when they would usually attend social events and gatherings.

QMS Chair, Kate Rowell is also encouraging the industry to get behind the campaign by continuing to work together to promote the fantastic produce supplied by the Scottish red meat supply chain. “Farmers, hauliers, auction marts, butchers and processors all play an integral part in getting Scotch products from field to fork, and it’s important that they are celebrated during this campaign.

“The industry pack provides some key messages, graphics and recipes about Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Specially Selected Pork and we would love for the industry to use the resources to help share content on their social channels.”
