United Auctions held its Christmas sale of 579 store and 14 breeding cattle at Stirling, where a 306kg black Limousin cross heifer from A and I MacInnes, Ruaig, Tiree, led at £2100, or 686.3p per kg, lifting the heifer average to 256.93p.

The same home also produced the top priced bullock in the form of another 306kg Limousin cross selling to £1280, or 418.3p. The steers averaged 237.39p.
