Guest consignments from the Procters flock from Lancashire, produced the top two prices of 14,000gns and 11,000gns at the January Gems sale of Texel females at Ballymena, where 59 gimmers averaged just shy of £2000.

The sale, which included entries from Chrissy and Martin Mullan's Blue Gates flock; Adrian Liggett, and Brian Williamson of the Corbo and Farmhill units; John Trimble, Curley and S and M Warnock, Straidarran, was led by a gimmer brought out by Jeff and Jennifer Aiken, daughter Katie and son Robbie Aiken.

The 14,000gns gimmer which sold to C Bellis, Denbigh, Wales, is by the 100,000gns Sportsmans Batman and sold in lamb to the 350,000gns Sportmans Double Diamond. Bred from a ewe by Teiglum Younggun, she is from a strong female line being a grand-daughter of Procters Vicki which bred the 12,000gns Procters Cheeky Monkey and Procters Crystal.

Another Batman daughter from Procters in lamb to Double Diamond made 11,000gns selling to S and J McCollam, Crumlin. Her grand dam is a full sister to the 16,000gns Procters Samurai.
