Two bulls achieved five-figures prices at a breed society sale of Welsh Blacks at Dolgellau, where prices peaked at 15,200gns.
Sale leader was Michael Wyn Jones’ 17-month-old, Deiniolen William, from Tyddyn Perthi, Penisarwaen, Caernarfon, purchased by TW Williams and, Caerynwch Farm, Brithdir, Dolgellau.
Second top price was 10,200gns paid for Dilwyn Jenkins’ Caran Caleb 4, from Talybont, Ceredigion. The buyers were A and W Jones, Braich Du, Glanrafon, Corwen.
Just behind, on 9200gns, Dyfnant Rhys 18, from Glyn Thomas, Aberdyfnant, Llangadog was purchased by DG Jenkins, Tanrallt, Talybont, Ceredigion.
Females peaked at 2150gns for the in-calf heifer, Tryfil Meriel 8, from IG Roberts, Tryfil Isaf, Llanerchymedd, Ynys Mon, bought by James Watkins of Radnor Hills Mineral Water, Knighton.
Top price amongst the maidens was 2000gns paid for a heifer from A and RC Williams, Pentre, selling to DG Williams, Hen Blas, Eglwys Bach.
