Glenericht Pogba, a Charolais bull from Perthshire breeders, Peter and Allen Drysdale, Middle Drimmie, Blairgowrie, has been sold in a private deal for £10,000 to David and Louise Barker of Caylers herd, Nuthampstead.

An 18-month-old, Pogba is by Glenericht Limpet, a Fleets Vibrant-sired bull retained for breeding that bred the 16,000gns Glenericht Pablo that sold to Carwoood at Stirling, in October, 2020, to average £9400 for four.

Backed by the best of bloodlines on the female side, Pogba's dam is the Clyth Diplomat daughter, Glenericht Gem, which won numerous championships as a two-year-old to include standing first in her class at the Highland and making up the inter-breed group of four in 2013 at Ingliston.

A star breeder too, Gem's last three sons have all sold into pedigree herds, with Glenericht Majestic a blue ticket winner in October 2017 selling for 11,500gns to Solwayfirth herd and most recently Glenericht Oasis, the supreme champion at Stirling last February, hitting 25,000gns in February 2020 selling to Swalesmoor Charolais.

Glenericht Pele, a twin to Pogba and their full blood brother, Glenericht Pegasus, have both been entered for United Auctions' bull sales at the end of February.
