A new world record price of £27,100 or £28,455 to include the buyers' premium, and a further eight lots selling for more than £7000 were the main highlights of a timed online sale of working dogs staged through Farmers Marts, Dolgellau.

The sale of 126 dogs to include 65 trained, 36 part-trained and 25 pups which met an 80% clearance, saw a new world high paid for Welshman, Dewi Jenkins' Kim, a 12-month-old red and white bitch, from Tynygraig, Talybont. A daughter of Ross Games' Caefelin Clem and Frank Hickson's Graylees Dollar, this youngster which is able to work stubborn rams as well as cattle, sold to E Vaughan, Partridge Nest Farm, Newcastle, Staffordshire.

Second top price was £16,400 paid for D Henderson's Burndale Joy, from Low Struthers, Hexham, which sold to an undisclosed Lancashire bidder. This April 2018-born black and white entry is by the proven breeder Curly Spot and bred from the open trial winner, Cemig Jewel.

Welshman Kevin Evans' enjoyed another flying trade with sales at £16,100, £14,100, £8300 and £6900. The triallist from Llwynfedwen, Brecon, who previously sold the former world record priced dog, Henna at £20,000, last year at Skipton, received £16,100 for Wheatwood Ru, a full trained 21/2-year-old farm and trial bitch. She sold to Willy Davies and Sophia Chambers, Usk Vale Pedigrees, who get for their money, a daughter of DK Evans' Derwen Doug, out of IR Fowler's Fran.

Selling for £14,100 was the former nursery trial winner, Roy, an August 2018-born son of IB Jones' Tim out of G Ruggeri's L/minster Nell, which bound for a new home in Norway, and Brynn (Lyn), an 18-month-old bitch by D Addison's Pen-y-Borough Ker, made £8300 to a buyer in mid Wales.

Partly trained sheepdogs were topped at £6800 by Lilly from B Smith, Upper Radbourne Cottages, Southam and pups sold to £3550 for a six-week-old huntaway from WS Davies, Upper House, Llandrindod, which won't be collected for another month.

Trained dogs averaged £5033; partly trained at £2735 and pups levelled at £2095, to give an overall sale average of £3745.
