Prices peaked at 9500gns at the Salers sale at Stirling, with the 12 bulls cashing in to average £4856.25, a rise of £26.25 on the year and with an 86% clearance – the highest of all the breed events.

Sale leader was Neil Blyth's Marwood Orlando, a rising two-year-old from Elwick, County Durham. He is by Seawell Gambler, out of a home-bred cow by Whitebog Convener and sold to James Shennan of Girvan, Ayrshire.

Second top price was 7500gns for Gill and Malcolm Pye’s, Rednock Oregon, from Port of Menteith, Stirling. This big lad is by the 12,000gns Drumaglea Kes and was knocked down to Crudie Farming Co., Arbroath

Living up to his name for Patrick Boyd's Drumaglea herd from the Isle of Tiree, was Outstanding, a son of the French AI sire, Django, which made 7200gns, to John Mitchell and Co, Greenlaw, Berwickshire.
