Averages: 35 gimmers, £229.20; 19 ewe lambs, £364.74; three shearling rams, £316.31; four ram lambs, £472.50.

A ewe lamb from Northern Ireland breeder, attracted the lead price of 750gns at the third annual Scottish Dorset Breeders' Club sale at United Auctions' Stirling Centre, which saw a 72% clearance.

The sale which saw entries of 70 females and 24 males, was topped by the second prize ewe lamb from Tommy Wright's Ballytaggart flock. She is by Wilsey A438, and sold to Axminster breeder, SJ Wright. Mr Wright also sold the lead priced female, a gimmer at 600gns.

The top priced male at 600gns was the third prize ram lamb from young Jack Royan's Reivers flock, Duns. Sandy Lane Dan Dare which was bought as a lamb at foot was purchased by Danny Creer, Balaglonney, Isle of Man.

The male champion and supreme, as selected by the judge Joe Baker of the Lanamuir flock, Windshiel, Duns, was Dun Eideann Denzil from Denis and Declan Rankine, Lochore. He is by Islaharnan Bruno and realised 550gs to Messrs Cassie, Portstown, Inverurie.

Champion female and reserve overall, was a ewe lamb from Alec Steff, Waggoners flock, Burnley. His Richhill Bravo daughter out of a homebred ewe, made 400gns selling to Dale and Morag Robertson, Cheeklaw Brae, Duns.

Top priced shearling ram at 450gns was the reserve male from Fiona Harley, Craiglaw, Kinross, purchased by R and J Mitchell, Huntly. Rumbling Bridge Crackerjack is by a Huish sire.

Lochgelly-based I and G Farmer, Cowden, sold the lead priced aged ram at 550gns. He is by Ballytaggart Xtra special and sold to Thomas Roper buying for his Fellview flock in Cumbria.
