A believed to be record breaking average was achieved among the Charolais ring at Stirling Bull Sales today, when 59 sold for £8327 (+£1700 for 16 more).

Sale leader at 28,000gns was the pre-sale champion, Balthayock Ranger from Major Walter, Balthayock, Perth.

This May 2020 born bull is sired by Balthayock IMP, out of Balthayock Melissa and sold to Vince Corbett, The Gorther, Felindre, Knighton, Powy.

Balthayock Rampage, secured 25,000gns when being chapped down to Jermey Price, Oakchurch Farm, Staunton-on-wye, Hereford. This boy is a son of Balthayock Ferdinand, and out of the Balthayock Raffles daughter, Balthayock Unwary.

The second top price of the day at 26,000gns was paid for the reserve male champion, Goldies Romeo from Hamish Goldie, South Bowerhouses, Dumfries. This May 2020 born is sired by Gretnahouse Heman and out of Goldies Marion. Forking out the cash for this boy was Highfields Park Farm, Beech green lane, Withyham, East Sussex.

Elrick Rabbi made his mark for Mike and Lisa Massie, Mains of Elrick, Ellon, when leaving the ring at a 16,000gns bid from T Smith, Netherton, Whitehouse, Alford. A Maerdy Gouverneur son out of Elrickc Lily.

The production sale of Charolais females from Iain and Rhona Miller, of the Lochend herd, witnessed 17 heifers achieve an average of £5942 along with a top price of 12,000gns.

The yearling heifer, Lochend Rolo, was the star attraction being a Gretnahouse Ming daughter, out of Lochend Navajo. Keeping her in the family this one was knocked down to Craig and Teen Malone, Pitcairn Farm, Cardenden, Fife.
