Crowds gathered for the return of the Borderway Agri Expo event staged at Carlisle today.

After much deliberation the supreme champion went to the Limousin cross heifer, Miss Dynamite from Mark and Sarah Harryman, Pickering. Having secured the Great Yorkshire Show champion earlier in the year this August 2020 born calf is bred by Brian Harper, Greenwells, Falkirk and crossed the weigh bridge at 601kg.

The overall reserve honours was tapped out to the reserve champion heifer, Atomic Blonde from Dermot, Gareth and Mark Small and Beth Wilkinson, Kilkeel, Co Down. This Limousin cross is home-bred and weighed 676kg.

Black Bomber bombed his way to the top spot among the steers for Katrina Little and Hannah Donaldson, The Guards, Wigton. This 15-month-old Limousin cross calf is bred by P and A Jarman, Brathwaite, and crossed the weigh bridge at 595kg.

The Aberdeen-Angus cross steer, Fred, secured the championship among the baby beef for David and Pat Blair, Littleinch, Balmerino. This March born home-bred calf is a son of McCornick Panther, with the dam being a Limousin cross, on the day he weighed 319kg.

The blue and white sash among the baby beef was awarded to the Limousin heifer, Hightown Sarah jointly owned by John-Smith Jackson, Hightown, and Luck and Beth Wilkinson, Leyburn. This February born 330kg calf is sired by Shire Apollo and out of a Limousin dam.

Among the sheep rings it was the Inglewood Edge team that took the double victory. Having secured the championship with a pair of Beltex lambs, and the reserve honours with their Texel duo.
