Sir, – The Crofting Commission sent out their croft census this year using QR codes for the first time for them to show how excellent and efficient their admin is.

Is this move legal? Consider the age of crofters and their ability to have access to electronic devices to read QR codes.

How many replies to date have they received? I would guess very few. What happened to the matter of choice?

This overlapping census is just a joke. We fill in a return to the Scottish Ministers, recording the amount of land, stock, cropped land, etc. If you are a crofter, the Crofting Commission asks similar questions.

Oh I forgot, the Crofting Commission computer cannot read the ScotGov computer, thus putting them in an strange situation. So I plead with the Crofting Commission – send us a bit of paper that we can write on and sign to keep within the law. And that you have much joy in shredding this useful info.
