Averages: 16 bulls, £3760; 31 females, £1866.

Reserve overall champion, Woodmarsh Roman, secured the top price of 7000gns at the recent Limousin sale at Melton Mowbray Auction Mart for the Gould family, Grange Farm, Shrewsbury.

The 16 bulls cashed in at £3760 achieving a 73% clearance rate, but the sale leader from Mick and Katherine Gould, came out on top when being knocked down to AE Neachell Son, Shrubbery, Walsall.

This July 2020-born bull is sired by Mereside Lorenzo and is out of Millington Highlight, who sold for 50,000gns in 2016.

The same home produced the champion which was tapped out by the judge, Alan Morgan of the Almande herd, County Durham, in the form of the May 2020 born bull, Woodmarsh Rubel, and went on to make 4400gns. He is sired by the AI bull, Wilodge Cerberus, out of Foxhillfarm Olivia, and now heads to Fristling Hall Farm, Swan Lane.

Calogale Role was next in the money at 5000gns for GJ Lee and CM Lloyd, Ger-Y-Coed, Carmarthenshire. This July 2020-born bull, is a son of Bernish Memphis, out of Trueman Florence and was purchased by JB Thompson, Staiby House, Lincolnshire.

Realising 4600gns was the September 2020 born bull, Ewdenvale Robroy, from S Wilde, Spite Winter House, Sheffield. This Ampertaine Magnum son is out of Ewdenvale Nina, and found a new home with A Clifton, Mill Lodge, Wisbech.

The first priced bull, Stain Rocketman from TJ Denby and Son, Longlands, Alford, sold for 4500gns to A Kaye and Sons, Town Head, Dunford Bridge. This October 2020-born bull is sired by Carrickmore Maximus and out of Stain Lacey.

On the female front a top price of 3000gns was paid for Enigma Nirvana from Osborne Partnership. This April 2017-born female has double F94L myostatin and is a daughter of Haltcliff Gunner, out of Enigma Julia. She sold with her bull calf at foot, Enigma Simba, which is sired by Wilodge Goldcard, to WRB Farming, Tithe Farm, Northants.

The January 2019 born heifer, Cockleshell Penny, secured 2750gns for I Pitcher, Ivy House, Lincolnshire. A Mereside Hanniball daughter she is out of Cockleshell Imogen and found a new home with P Green, Stone Road End Farm, Tuxford.

Following closely behind at 2700gns was Cockleshell Imogen for the same home, which sold with her bull calf at foot, which is sired by Greensons Nickle. This nine-year-old cow is a result of the sire, Chytodden Conan onto the dam, Cockleshell Georgina. The final bidders were KD and J Leighton and Sons, Fairfield, Barmby on the Marsh.
