Despite soaring values for livestock, grass let auction prices remained similar on the year at Aberdeen and Northern Mart’s event, this week.
At its sale many fields were selling for £200 per acre – without fertiliser applied. The top price was £245/acre with prices ranging from £150/acre to £200/acre at the sale.
ANM auctioneer John Angus said: “The biggest factor for price is location. Areas of high demand push the prices a lot more than the quality of grass or if there has been fertiliser applied.”
Whilst the prices have stayed level this year, Mr Angus was keen to point out that the grass let market jumped significantly in 2022.
