Trade was stronger than expected at the first of two November Dairy sales at Skipton, where both the champion and reserve winners sold for £2300.
The event saw the judge, young Jack Harrison, from Penrith, purchase his choice of winners with the champion being a fresh heifer from Ian Hall who trades as J Dibb at Old Northcote Farm, Kilnsey. This entry sold giving 27kg per day.
The reserve, another heifer just over three weeks calved from Peter and Rob Corner, of West Harlsey, Northallerton, changed hands giving 36kg per day.
Regular Queensbury purchaser Richard Sutcliffe paid £2000 for another fresh heifer from Ian Hall.
