Dumfriesshire Oxford Down breeder, Andrew Rutherford, came home in style from a society show and sale at Worcester when achieving centre record prices of 1550gns for a shearling ram and 1200gns for a gimmer.
Mr Rutherford of the Langrigg flock based at Guards Farm, Gretna, sold the top priced ram, a son of Billesdons Braveheart out of a dam by Beswickhall Cherrytom, to Martin Johnson, buying for the Longfriday flock from Northants.
The Langrigg gimmer was also by Braveheart, but out of a dam by Langrigg Illidan. She made 1200gns selling to Roland Williams, Aberystwyth, for the Greenlands flock.
