Shawhill Florence Tabitha achieved the top price of 3300gns at the Summer Sale of Beef Shorthorn females at Longtown for Thomson, Roddick and Laurie, Annan.
The roan polled, maiden heifer which stood first in her class at the pre-sale show is by Glenisla Keystone and out of a Burnside Elite daughter. She sold to T and R Harper, South Mains, Biggar.

Second top price was 2600gns paid for the in-calf heifer Featherstone Skylark Heather, from Alan and Dorothy Whitehead’s herd dispersal from Coanwood, Haltwhistle. She is sired by Newton of Skaillhouse and sold down to Middlemoor Farm, Hudswell, North Yorkshire.
The same buyer went to 2300gns for the cow, Featherston Pesky Ysabel with her heifer calf and to 2400gns and 2200gns for in-calf heifers from Featherston.

Judge Cameron Jackson awarded the first prize in the cow and calf section to Sandwick Blythesome Klassylass from A and C Ivinson, Sandwick, Ousby, Penrith. This eight-year-old Ex90-classified dark roan is by Engineer of Upsall and sold with registered heifer calf at foot for 2500gns to RA Nelson, Millstone Moor, Cockermouth who also went to 2300gns for Sandwick Kinda Marita, a Podehole Gatsby daughter with heifer calf.
