Ali Jackson, Annan, produced the joint top price of 3000gns with a Dutch Spotted ewe lamb at a multi-breed sheep sale at Welshpool which included Badger Faced Texels and Blue Texels.

His Tiptop Hashtag, a Craigdoo Gambler daughter, bred from Tiptop Fine N Dandy, sold back up to Scotland with Alistair Dodd of the Tundergarth flock, Lockerbie.

Matching that price was the gimmer Glan Y Mor Glitter from the Jones family, Gwynedd. Sired by Glencoy Chance and out of Coxhill Eider, she was purchased by Harri and Hannah Vaughan for the Preseli View flock, Pembs.

Next at 2600gns was the gimmer Wedderburn Gigi, from Jonathan and Janet Corbett, Newent, a daughter of Merryboro Fastandfurious. She was knocked down to Messrs Price and Son, Moulton.

The same home sold the ewe lamb Wedderburn Holly Hock, which is jointly owned with David Roberts, Boyo, for 2200gns to Henry Jewitt, Barnard Castle. Sired by Whatmore Guiness, she is bred from Lochlad Danika.

Top call among the Dutch Spotted males was 1600gns for the aged ram Merryboro Fastandfurious from the Corbetts and David Roberts. A son of Dutch Dominator, he headed home with Messrs Vernon, Minshull Vernon.

Badger Faced Texels peaked at 1500gns for Leics-based Paula Jessop’s Jessops Firefox, a ram lamb by High Ploughlands Ernie, out of Woodies Belinda. The buyer was S Duggan, Brecon.

On the other side of the coin, Ms Jessop bought the lead priced Blue Texel at 1000gns. This was the gimmer Dovery Hazel from Messrs Comer and Simpson, Llandovery. She is sired by Nantyderri Flashy and out of a dam by a Hackney sire.

Kevin Watret, Annan, sold the pre-sale champion, a gimmer, for 900gns to the judge Mike Davies for the Severn View flock, Caersws.

Solway View Hitomi is by Sunnybank Exchange Rate and out of an imported dam.
