Scotch Mule averages improved significantly on the year at Wallets Marts’ two day show and sale.

On the Saturday, 2025 gimmers levelled at £222.56, up £52.03 for 626 less sold, while on Monday, 6039 ewe lambs cashed in at £163.62, up £31.64 for 1043 less sold.

Craig Goldie, Skipmyre judged the gimmers and found his supreme in a pen from Messrs McKie, Finniness, which topped the sale at £270, selling to the judge.

Other breed gimmers sold to the same price for a pen of Texels from Judith Cowie, Copelaw.

The ewe lamb judge James Nisbet, Orchardton, found his champion winners in a pen of 40 from Messrs Lockhart, Culdoach, while Messrs McKie, Finniness topped the pens of 20.

Top price amongst the ewe lambs was £222 paid for a pen of 40 from Messrs Shennan, Farden.
