Brennand Panther, a 26-month-old bull attracted the lead price of 18,000gns for Jeff and Margaret Walker, at a pedigree British Blue sale at Carlisle, where heifers proved particularly popular.

Second in his class at the pre-sale judged by Ian Wainwright, Cupar, this March 2020-born entry by Cromwell Fendt, is out of Brennand Mandy, a Tweeddale Ebony daughter. Panther sold to Philip Halhead of Norbreck Genetics, Cockerham, Lancashire.

Andy Woodburn and son Andrew, Netherwood, Muirkirk, produced the senior champion in Netherwood Pablo, which went on to sell for 14,000gns. This two-year-old is by Solway View Firecracker and out of the black cow, Netherwood Kylie which goes back to Colos Van Daisel. He sold to Andrew Kay and sons Robert and Andrew, Gass, Straiton. 

Garry Patterson’s Aultside Powerhouse, from Keith, achieved 10,500gns after standing reserve male champion. This mostly black bull is a son of Blak Du Baty D’Eprave, out of the ET dam, Droit Jessie and sold to Murray Stevenson, Dailly, Girvan.

Dumfriesshire breeder, Kevin Watret, Annan, was another in the prizes and the money, selling the reserve intermediate champion, Solway View Popeye, for the same price. This June 2020-born bull is a heifer's calf bred from Solway View Misty and sired by Dodou De St Remacle. He sold north with James Youngson, Echt, Westhill, Aberdeenshire.

Five bulls sold for 10,000gns to include the best from Lanarkshire breeder, Ian McGarva, Nether Abington, Biggar, who achieved a new high when selling Abington Powerhouse to WN Lindsay, Cairnleith, Kirriemuir. This 20-month-old which stood third in his class is by Rocco De La Hasse, with the dam, Abington Monica going back to Tenace De La Praule.

Clifftown Playboy also hit the 10,000gns price tag for Dylan Townend, Quarry, Broughton, Malton. This September 2020-born bull is a son of Dodou De St Remacle and out of the Tweeddale Ebony daughter, Clifftown Ladyluck. He was chapped down to W Ridley, Hesket Newmarket, Wigton.

Matching that price was the best from Jason and Sarah Wareham, Broadoak, Heathfield. Warehams Penguin, a 22-month-old by Gitan Du Pti’t Mayeur, out of Widewath Verona which goes back to Serieux De Fooz, was knocked down to Gary Howells, Pentrecwrt, Llandysul, Dyfed.

Graham Morgan, The Cider Mill, Tillington, also produced two 10,000gns bulls. First to achieve this was the two-year-old Almeley Pepe, purchased by Aucheneck Estates, Killearn, Stirlingshire, who got for their money a second prize Pinnacle Hero son out of Almeley Honeysuckle which goes back to Drybarrows Cawdale.

The similarly aged, Almeley Powershift, made the same money selling to Mark and Sarah Harryman, Newlands, Keswick. This Empire D'Ochain-sired bull is out of the Almeley Arlequin daughter, Almeley Koala. 
Kevin Watret and stockman, Ali Jackson, were back in the money and the prizes amongst the females, selling the top four highest priced lots after producing a bull at 10,500gns.

Their winner, which sold for the section top price of 16,000gns was the female and overall champion, Solway View Rosie. Female champion at the Agri Expo, this January 2021-born ET, is the result of a flush from the Solway View Firecracker daughter, Solway View Katie and the AI sire, Tweeddale Ironman. She headed home with Kevin and Sonya Fletcher, Coul Estate Partnership, Laggan, Perthshire.

The same buyers also went to 15,000gns for Mr Watret's first prize heifer, Solway View Pixie ET, a September 2020-born heifer also bred from Katie, but sired by Bedgebury Kent.

Next best at 13,000gns was Solway View Ribbon, another January 2021-born heifer by Bedgebury Kent, which now travels to Lancaster with Sheila Mason and Caroline Brow, Clapham. Her dam is the Tweeddale Ironman daughter, Solway View Majestic, whose full brother sold for 11,000gns.

Mr Watret also topped the embryo calves at 7500gns with Solway View Rihanna, a six-month-old heifer bred from the Solway View Firecracker daughter, Solway View Kesha which has bred bulls to 27,000gns and 15,000gns and heifers to 11,000gns. Her sire is Empire D'Ochain. Rihanna sold with recipient dam to Messrs Barrow, Mealsgate, Wigton. 

Selling at 7000gns, to B Acton, Hawes, was the eight-month-old Clifftown Rebel ET from Dylan Townend, Quarry Farm, Broughton. She is the result of a flush from Clifftown Ladyluck and the AI sire, Magloire De Fontena.
