A pure-bred Limousin bull sold for the top price of £7000 at the North East Limousin Breeders' Club sale at Darlington, which included a good entry of commercial females.
Lissett Roman, an 18-month-old bull by the French sire, Hamac, from JH Tennant, Manor House, Bridlington, had just a digit wrong on his pedigree certificate, which prevented him from being shown. The dam, Lissett Mimi, by Norman Infusion, was easily sold with a warranted pedigree to TW Oliver, Crawfields, Haltwhistle.
Pedigree bulls sold to 5000gns for the junior Cornsay Sailor, a 16-month-old from WI Suddes and Sons, South Farm, Cornsay. A son of Dylans Irnbru, out of a home-bred Merseside Godolphin daughter, he headed home with PR and V Barlow and Son, Sycamore Farm, Nottinghamshire.
Two bulls sold for 4000gns to include the champion, selected by Richard Priestley. This was the two-year-old Longhirst Rendevous from DW and M Jordon, Morpeth. He is by Glenrock Justthejob and sold to G and W Jackson,Cookson Green, East Howle, Durham.

Matching that price, local breeder, Josh Knaggs sold the 16-month-old Jorica Sportsman, a Goldies Nixon son to Bishop Middleham-based I Marshall and Sons, Hope House.
Overall, the 26 head of pedigree cattle saw bulls average £3366.30, with heifers at £1655.85, with a 92% clearance.
Commercial females sold to £2500 for three outfits of cows and heifers with calves – two from P Donnelly, Great Ayton and one from Foley Brothers, Capheaton.
