Irthingend Ingle Bianca secured the top price of 2500gns at the dispersal sale of the late Gordon Brown's Irthingend pedigree Holstein youngstock from Irthington, at Borderway market, Carlisle.

Mr Brown's milking herd was sold off in January and a steady demand continued for the youngstock, with the sale leader, a Springhope Escalate daughter due in August to Berryridge SSI Tacitus sexed, selling to the Story family from Longtown.

Biggest volume buyers, Slagnaw Farming, Castle Douglas, purchased the next two dearest lots at 2450gns and 2400gns. Dearest was the in-calf heifer, Irthingend Isabella Pearl, by the same sire and in calf to Siemers Renegade Rozline.

The latter, Irthingend Indispensable Garnet, another Escalate daughter, is again due to Rozline.

Irthingend Individual Amethyst achieved 2400gns when selling to Messrs Holliday, Silloth, Wigton. She sold due to Berryridge SSI Tacitus, and is also by Escalate
