Local breeder, CV Lewis, produced the lead priced lot at the North Wales and Mid Wales Limousin Club sale at Welshpool, selling Garyvaughan Roy for 10,000gns.

The bull, a September 2020-born son of the 7000gns Strathearnred Nidge, an Ampertaine Jamboree son that stood champion at Carlisle in February, 2019, is bred from the Garnedd Gower daughter, Garyvaughan Ijet and sold to Messrs Wigham, Haltwhistle.

Just behind, on 9000gns, the Quick brothers, Crediton Devon, sold their pre-sale champion, Loosebeare Ready, a two-year-old Loosebeare Fantastic son, out of the Rainbow Simon-sired cow, Loosebeare Coldy, to Messrs Jones and Davies, Newtown.

Another from the same stable, Loosebeare Racer, a March 2020-born son of Ampertaine Jamboree, made 8500gns selling to Messrs Payne, Billinghurst, West Sussex. His dam is a home-bred Loosebeare Fantastic daughter.

A Broadmeadows Cannon son from ML Thomas' Nebo herd from Llanrwstwas, followed, making 8000gns to neighbouring breeders Messrs Jones. Nebo Ronaldo, a September 2020-born bull, is out of the Wilodge Vantastic-sired Nebo Highness.

Two bulls made 6000gns to include Esmor Evans' Maerdy Return, from Mold, Flintshire, purchased by Messrs Roberts, Corwen. He is by Loosebeare Iain.

Twemlows Redskin, from WL and JA Forrester, Market Drayton, made the same money, when selling to Messrs Rowlinson, Stoke-on-Trent. His sire is Ampertaine Jeronimo.

* Salers sold the same day peaked at 7000gns for Preenbank Peregrine, a Seawell Invader son from JF Robinson and Sons. Reserve champion at the pre-sale show, this 26-month-old son of Preenbank Iona, was knocked down to J Bufton and Sons, Whitney-on-Wye Herefordshire.
