An in-calf heifer from FW Cook and Son, Cambridgeshire, topped the inaugural Grass Masters online sale of traditional Hereford cattle, when selling for £2600.

The heifer, Albany Laramie, which stood supreme champion at the Royal Welsh Spring Festival, is by Albany Lincoln and sold in calf to Willow Grange Louis. She was purchased by the Lynn family, buying for their Hockerwood herd from Nottingham.

Another from the Cook’s Albany herd, Albany Prettymaid 30, also by Lincoln, made £2200 selling to Louise Thompson-Ball, Yorkshire.

Leading the bull trade at £2000, was Carpenters Morgan from I and H Macleod. Male champion at both the Royal Three Counties Show and the Royal Welsh Spring Festival, he goes out to work on Jon Francis’ herd from Paddock Farm Butchery, Warwickshire.

The Macleods then sold Turnant Gaymaid 3, a 2018-born cow bred by R Clare, Herefordshire, for £1525 with her bull calf at foot. The buyer was Janet Tibbenham, Brecon.
