Harford Selina 2 made her mark at Pat Quinn's dispersal sale of Longhorn cattle from Cheltenham, Glos, when a top call of 4400gns was paid at Worcester Livestock Market.
Having established her Harford herd in 1976 it was a day to remember, when the April 2018-born female was knocked down to EJ Biddulph, Tregaron, Ceredigion.
She is by Wellhead Largo Ex90 and out of the Dunstall Hector daughter, Harford Lola, and sold with her heifer calf at foot, which is sired by Blackbrook El Nino.
The same buyer went to 3100gns for the April 2020 born, Harford Utopia. This Southfield Octane Ex92 daughter is out of Harford Questa, and has been running with Blackbrook El Nino.
Not far behind on 3000gns was the four-year-old cow, Harford Sunflower 2 and another heifer calf by El Nino which sold to JE Barker and Sons, Shrewsbury. This cow is backed by Wellhead Largo and bred from the Blackbrook Tudor daughter, Harford Orchid.
Harford Suzanna 2 secured 2650gns another by the same sire this time out of a Gorse Monsignor daughter, which was sold with her bull calf at foot by El Nino to Jane Grant, Easingwold, Yorkshire.
The Blockley family, Bradford, West Yorkshire, took home Harford Uzzi for 2800gns. Again, by Southfield Octane, this one is out of a Wellhead Largo daughter.
Top price yearling heifer was Harford Vanessa, when recieving a 2350gns bid again from Jane Grant. This Southfield Octane daughter is out of a Dunstall Hector sired-dam.
