Dairy bullocks (120) averaged 166p, reaching 175.9p per kg and £1050, for a 597kg Friesian cross from Broompark.

The 769 heifers averaged 213.51p and were topped at 254.5p for a 495kg Simmental cross from Kirkton of Lundie, and £1260 for a 495kg Simmental cross from Kirkton of Lundie.

Top price was £1240 paid for a pen of Simmentals from Clevance or 256.3p for Aberdeen-Angus bullocks from Mountop.

Cleavance also topped the heifers at £1165 with an Aberdeen Angus, while another of the same breed from Mid Lugtonridge, sold for 231.1p per kg.

The 45 breeding sheep were topped at £220 for a Texel ewe with twin Beltex lambs at foot from Messrs Dunlop, Holehouse, Ochiltree, and 176 store hoggs sold to £88.50 for 38 Texels from Dinwoodie Farms.

Bullocks averaged 221p per kg selling to 291p for Charolais crosses from Hugh Ronald, Upper Ettrick, Rothesay, and to £1270 for a British Blue from Willie Main, Drumbowie, Glenmavis.

Heifers averaged 212p per kg having sold to 254p for Aberdeen-Angus from AJ and G Orr, Lawhead of Stobwood, Forth, and to £1120 twice for Simmentals from A and J Orr, Hill O Harthill, Harthill, and Scott Adam, Hill of Arnmore, Kippen.

Young bulls peaked at 236p for a Limousin from J and J Kinloch, Walton, Cardross.

Also forward were 306 store hoggs and ewes with lambs at foot. Top price went to James Graham, Mains of Burnbank, with a Mule ewe with twin Beltex lambs at £235 or £78 per life.
